Potty Park - the best indoor dog potty!
I have three of these indoor potties for the Elfin dogs and I have to say that they have been simply the best alternative potty facilities I have tried in 18 years of breeding Silks. The dogs just love these indoor potties. With piddle pads, once a dog has peed on it, no one else wants to step on to use it. With the PottyPark, it's just like outside...one pees, everyone else wants to add their mark. They are easy to use and relatively easy to clean. To keep mine odor free, I have 2 grass mats for each one...so I can clean and alternate them. I found the best method for cleaning is a 2 gallon pump garden sprayer. I fill it with 1/2 water, 1/2 white vinegar OR 1/2 water and 1/2 Natures Miracle...and I spray them down twice daily, empty the drawer and rinse it with hot water. This works better for me than pouring a 1/2 gallon of water on the park. Once weekly, I thoroughly hose down a grass mat and let it air dry (this is why I have 2 mats/park) out in the sun.
When it rains or the grass is wet with dew, my prima donna dogs prefer indoor facilities and, with the PottyPark, the dogs no longer have accidents (why do we call inappropriate elimination 'accident' when the dogs obviously do it on purpose???) on the floor. They are not inexpensive but are well worth the peace of mind. I am so glad not to be going through cases of piddle pads any more.
Note: I still use litter pans when raising puppies as the puppies have a tendency to chew on the grass mats but, as soon as a pup is being integrated into the household, they automatically switch to the PottyPark and they literally housebreak themselves...it's amazing to watch the little pups just do it on their own!
